There is a never ending stream of news bites on the current economic crisis for 2008, 2009 and beyond. Me being an average enough person with a slightly above average job. Well my job is boarderline academic and it is definately a tech/IT type job. What does it really mean to me?

For beginners I'm not a financial expert, I don't fully comprehend what is going on. It's as real to me as the economics of The World of Warcraft. Ultimately when a large investment company or bank fails I just see a fluctuation in currencies (good or bad for travel) an increase in levies and taxes and pay cuts. All this because some financial expert or experts made a mess of things.

I broke the trend of buying property a few years ago when prices were at their peak in Ireland, now I carry a big smile that I am not in debt. Not facing the prospect of how will I manage my finances because I bought a house or apartment, I feel relieved. In fact I'm just carrying on with my life, the only real difference is, everything in general costs more, people complain and rant more about the current economic problems instead of what has happened to the latest celebrity. Life goes on and all them financial/economic experts should be playing The World of Warcraft instead.
